Kranepool himself is a footnote in Supreme Court history. Justice Potter Stewart was a rabid baseball fan, and found himself on the bench listening to oral arguments while the Mets were playing a game in the 1973 postseason. Stewart had his clerks pass him notes with game updates…..first every inning, then every half-inning, finally a note for every batter. The clerks passed a note that read, “Kranepool flies to right. The Mets are the most scouted team concerning the hitting. It's not because they're the best but because the Met organization and/or the hitters refuse to make the necessary adjustments. So any additional scouting will result in a higher percentage of taking advantage of Met hitters. With JD Martinez joining the club, I believe his hitting approach is affecting other hitters [either through osmosis or other players are chewing off JD's ear], and that in effect reduces opposing players taking advantage of Met-hitter weaknesses and/or tendencies. The players affected most by the scouting were Lindor, Alonso, and McNeil. I can see Lindor and to a lesser degree, Alonso talking to JD and looking for advice. McNeil has too much pride right now but eventually, he'll start following JD's approach. To a lesser degree, the Mets pitching staff has been highly scouted but since the rotation is fluid, they've kind of backed off. But you can still see other teams seemingly knowing what pitches are coming.

Baty cant hit in the majors. Acuna needs to come up and replace McNeil asap..

Talent Yes ! I like Brett Baty but he is a nightmare at 3 rd base , makes incredible diving stops then muffs throw on a routine grounder he boots , he needs a lot of work at playing 3rd , let him come back in ST and take it from Vientos.

Would really like them to stay away from these players in their mid-30s! Unless there's some way to get LeBron via free agency for a couple years, I don't see any appealing big name veteran over 30 years old who may be available. Paul George and Butler are way too injury prone at this point, plus George's playoff resume is quite poor.

Brunson didn't take a lesser deal for Knicks in his first contract. He outplayed that contract. Dallas offered him half of what Knicks did and they were criticized for overpaying.
